Eli Lilly to supply another 150,000 doses of COVID treatment to the government #FinanceUSA #StockMarketNEWS
Eli Lilly & Co. said Wednesday that it will supply the U.S. government with an additional 150,000 doses of its COVID treatment bebtelovimab for about 5 million. Delivery of the doses will begin immediately and be completed no later than Aug. 5. The company expects the government supply of bebtelovimab, including the new purchase, to meet demand through late August. Lilly expects the additional dose order to add about 5 million to 2022 revenue, and to boost earnings per share by 8 cents. The company said an option for an additional 350,000 doses, to be exercised no later than Sept. 14, is still part of the original agreement. Lilly's stock slipped 0.5% in premarket trading. It has run up 15.0% year to date through Tuesday, while the S&P 500 has dropped 19.8%.
